The Renfrewshire Local History Forum was formed in 1988 to act as an umbrella organization, bringing together all the societies in the county which have an interest in history or heritage. The Forum acts as a link between the various societies by publishing newsletters and giving details of events which might be of interest.
The forum promotes all aspects of History and Archaeology in the OLD county or 'shire' of Renfrew. This covers the modern administrative authorities of East Renfrewshire, Renfrewshire, Inverclyde, parts of southern Glasgow and other outposts. As well as organising conferences and lectures the Forum publishes an occasional Journal (free to membrs) and also papers and books relating to the history of archaeology of Renfrewshire.
